MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival

The Julie Burgess is back from the MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival​ safe and sound, our volunteer crew are taking a well earned rest. Congratulations to all involved, feedback from our passengers was that they had a great experience! Next sailing is this Sunday February 22, some spaces still available.


The Julie Burgess has arrived safely in Kettering. Message received yesterday evening from the skipper “Alongside Kettering, crew and passengers sucking on lemons to take the smile off their faces!”

Update 3, Journey to MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival

Due to prevailing weather conditions the Julie Burgess has not gone via Port Arthur and instead has gone through the Denison Canal. Message received 10.30 this morning from the skipper “Through the Denison Canal, freezing cold with SW winds and rain showers”

Update 2, Journey to MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival

Message received today at 9.30am from the skipper – “We arrived at the Schouten Passage at 2.30 this morning after an uncomfortable ride from Eddystone, now resting and taking time to tidy the ship up, will move on to Triabunna later today. Have seen a few other boats but no Enterprise as yet.”

Delayed Departure

The Julie Burgess is on her way to the MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart Feb 6-9 inclusive. Departure was delayed 24 hours due to weather conditions on the east coast. She set sail at midnight last night with 7 crew and 4 passengers.
